New CEO for Citizens Advice Westminster
Joanna has wide experience as a leader in the voluntary sector, most recently as Deputy CEO and Director of Education at the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) since 2015. She worked closely with community partners and funders, including local and central government, and was responsible for the successful delivery of a wide range of funded contracts, and for impact and outcomes.
Prior to that, Joanna was a senior leader at public sector union UNISON, where she was responsible for education policy and strategy, member learning and volunteer development, training and support. She has extensive experience of strategic development and management of change, including leading the successful implementation of the WEA’s digital and online learning strategy before and during the pandemic.

Joanna Cain said: “ I am looking forward to taking up this role and to lead and support the staff and volunteers who have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic to assist growing numbers of clients facing unprecedented challenges in their daily lives.”
Joanna will take up the appointment on 25 January.
