Get ready for June launch of Universal Credit in Westminster
Citizens Advice Westminster is gearing up to provide information and support to clients in the run up and launch of Universal Credit in Westminster in June.
You can call us for more information on 0300 330 1191 (Calls to this service cost the same as calling 01 and 02 numbers.)
The new system replaces six existing benefits:
The process will be managed on-line and applicants will need to create their account and operate it online. The bureau is working to ensure that all clients, and particularly the most vulnerable, are not daunted by the switch over.
We have produced a Universal Credit Services in Westminster booklet detailing information on where you can go for free digital training in every ward in Westminster. This will benefit anyone who has limited or no IT skills and give them confidence to manage their relationship with the DWP.
We will also be supporting clients around budgeting and financial matters related to the new system.
We will be creating a new section on our website to provide guidance on how to log on and create your Universal Credit account including the need to have an email address and what personal and financial information you will need to have ready when you log on for the first time.
For full information on the new process and how this will affect you visit the DWP Universal Credit website.
