Be a local hero this April: check out this exciting opportunity for local fundraisers to win up to £1,000 for Citizens Advice Westminster!

Local hero campaign posterTurn your hobby into a fundraiser by taking on a challenge!  This can be as simple as a fun run or
more daring like a Skydive.  It is the perfect opportunity to test your limits whilst also raising money for a good cause.  To get involved think up a challenge for yourself or a group of friends, set up a fundraising page for Citizens Advice Westminster on Localgiving and persuade as many people as possible to donate.

Local Hero will be launched on 1st April and will run until 30th April; people across the country will be raising money for local charities in a bid to be crowned Localgiving’s Local Hero!

Throughout April, fundraisers will be ranked on a leaderboard according to the number of unique online donors who sponsor their page. At the end of the campaign, Localgiving will award £5,000 in prizes to the causes supported by the top 20 fundraisers, with a top prize of £1,000 going to the cause of the fundraiser who has secured the most donors.

We’d be incredibly grateful if you would consider setting up a fundraising page and becoming our charity’s Local Hero!

What is the #LocalHero campaign?

You can find full details about the campaign here.

How will the money raised be spent?

This is a great way to help our charity raising much needed cash and the wider awareness of Citizens Advice Westminster. We make a real difference in our community but we are only able to continue doing this through the generosity and actions of people like you.  Any money you raise for us will go towards continuing to provide much needed free and independent advice to the local people of Westminster.  Just imagine what we could do with an extra £1,000!

How can you get involved?

If you think you could be our Local Hero, then please visit our Localgiving page here: https://localgiving.org/charity/citizens-advice-westminster/  and click ‘Fundraise for us’ to get started. Only donations made between the 1st and 30th of April will count towards the campaign, but you can get your page set up and ready to go right away!
